Josh & Shelbey’s Initmate Lake Placid Wedding // Whiteface Lodge // Lake Placid, NY

Some weddings are big and ornate, some are smaller and more intimate, but the end game is always the same. To ceremoniously pledge their love for each other in a way that best fits the personality of the couple, exchange rings and take the first step into their future as husband and wife.

On a cold rainy day in November, I traveled north to Lake Placid to document Josh & Shelbey’s big day at The Whiteface Lodge. While the cold and the rain certainly made for challenges for me as a photographer, Josh & Shelby barely noticed the weather because they were that happy and excited to walk down the aisle. Their focus was each other, and the small group of family and friends that are most important to them, being there to witness this important step in their lives. Just before the ceremony, Josh surprised his Grandpa (whose wedding band Josh now wears) by asking him to be his best man – making the the ceremony that much more meaningful.

This intimate wedding was the perfect fit for this couple. Congratulations Josh & Shelbey, the new Mr. & Mrs!
